A map, a party, and a little hot dog!

close

Another print has reared its giant head out of the creative waters of my brain. At least I like to think those waters are creative. Hmmm.

ahh

us

It turned out rather well for a quick project but there were some flecks of old emulsion in my screen that didn't make me very happy. I printed an edition of 8 and they are for sale if you're interested.

007 dog

Last week was Tyrone's 1st birthday, and he is not one to underdress for special occasions. The funny thing is that his "tux" was actually meant to dress a candle...but it fit around his furry neck pretty well.

hot dogs

My parents came into town and joined us for bacon wrapped hot dogs to celebrate our little hot dog.

crepe

My friends Mike and Kathryn had me over to watch the Academy Awards.

I made some mozzarella, prosciutto, and asparagus stuffed crepes and brought Oscar bingo over.

kabob

I also made some kabobs that were quite tasty, although I wasn't as fond of the grapefruit in the mix as much as I thought I would be.

tux pop

Kathryn made these fantastic tux cake pops. She is a pro (and this was her first time making them!)
All in all it was a fun filled week.

Retrieving the Silver Hornet

Jasper

Wow. What a weekend. It all started when I took "Jasper" (pictured above) for a cruise up to Spokane to pick up my trusty steed "the Siver Hornet" (it's a wonderful 2001 Saab 9-3 that I bought summer 2009)

The "Hornet" was in spokane due to some weird electrical issues (i.e. horn honking and hazard flashing...while the car was off)

gloves

It was cold and blizzardy on the way up to Spokane so I decided to stop and grab an early brunch

Favorite diner in the Northwest has to be in Colfax at this amazing joint.

crispity

They have the most amazing burger within a 100 mile radius.

burger

Top Notch.

top notch

If you need extra cholesterol, you can get it with this bacon, ham, and double beef patty sandwich.

dough

chicken

After sharing some Kung Pow I raced back to Moscow's own Winco. I frantically shopped for all of the ingredients for our gluten free dinner with our friends Chris and Emily.

yum

These rice paper wraps were my favorite part of the meal, but I'm a sucker for anything with bacon.

shrooms

Sausage and cream cheese stuffed mushrooms are a vicktrola staple. They make great sides and hors d'oeuvres.

strawberries

Strawberries are coming back into season and boy were these juicy and sweet.

hot sauce monogram

A hot sauce monogram is a fun and tasty way to know where you're sitting.

rice paper

Wraps also make a great facility for endless color combinations and scrumptious surprises.

Scrumptious Valentine

Valentine napkin

These bold red and white napkins are a household favorite, and how couldn't they be for only 10 cents at a yard sale.

Jimbo

Sparkling apple cider tastes great out of these amazing coke glasses from this eclectic store.

I, however, continue to drink this with vanilla coke regularly.

Janebo

After dinner I enjoyed entertainment provided by these guys (another household favorite) in a whole new way. They have a new volume of movie riffs that include newer films such as Harry Potter, Drag me to Hell, and Avatar. You can find their newer material here.

My riffed movie of choice? The Matrix.

lips

Needless to say it was a busy, fun filled and joyous occasion. It's a good thing some homework can be fun...like this charcoal on newsprint sketch.

The Storms and their Cellar

close up

I have returned (at last) with new prints. I screen printed these little suckers with acrylic on poster board. This teal is one of my favorite colors.

ooo!

One of the objectives with these little flyers was to make sure that they were reminiscent of facebook but also took a step away from their classic dark blue color scheme, hence the lighter color.

I am content with the turn out of these little guys but I think I would prefer them letter pressed...I'm sure I'll get around to it eventually.

two thumbs up

Print is a wonderful thing.

My cousin Taylor is also graduating from high school and she's nothing short of a blonde bombshell.

celebrity

See what I mean.

And while we're on the subject of bombshells...

horace

I finally sold my trusty ol' Chevy, Horace, so here's bidding him adieu. I'll miss you.
